Williams and Delta Partners look to the future of digital with 2018 partnership

Press releases

WILLIAMS MARTINI RACING announced a new partnership today with Delta Partners Group, a global leader in management consulting services, to advise Williams on the development of its digital media content and services.

Delta Partners and Williams will work together to increase engagement with its 20 million fans globally by using an array of innovative direct-to-fan services on mobile devices. The partnership will explore technologies such as virtual reality and esports to provide its fans unparalleled digital access to the Williams Martini Racing Formula One team. Delta Partners will also engage Williams with its network of international telecom providers and technology companies.

“This is an exciting time in Formula One” said Williams’ Commercial Director, Richard Berry. “We’re seeing a new and younger audience engage with the sport, and its existing fan base is rapidly accelerating the way in which it accesses Formula One through digital channels. There is a growing demand to understand more about how we develop the phenomenal technology that goes into building an F1 car, the personalities behind this process, and the great history of the sport.  By working with Delta Partners, Williams Martini Racing looks forward to giving its global audience better access and insight via its digital assets.”

Formula One is at the cutting edge of technology and is embracing digital media. Fans are increasingly using devices to watch Grand Prix weekends and online platforms provide teams like Williams the flexibility to offer fans wherever and whenever original and exciting content that was previously too challenging to share.

Delta Partners’ expertise in the technology, media and telecom (TMT) industries will enable Williams to unlock new revenue streams and reach an even greater global audience. Delta Partners works with some of the world’s largest TMT companies and is committed to helping shape the future of technology.

“The internet and mobile are changing the way fans across the world can engage with their teams. This creates opportunities to build new commercial models around fan engagement, but to do so requires new partnerships. Williams clearly see this opportunity and as one of the most prestigious teams in international sport we are excited to work with them by leveraging our expertise and international network to ensure they can engage their fans around the world,” said Sam Evans, partner at Delta Partners.
